The only way to lose that much weight is surgery (I'm not joking).
It would be very dangerous to your health to attempt it.
I would start out by walking at first (30 mins a day, 3 days a week, work up to 5 days per week within a month). If you have the money, join and gym and use a personal trainer. They can tailor-make your exercises to be the most effective.
You'll need some combination of cardio and weights.

a safe ammount of weight to lose is 2-4 lbs a week, there are 24 weeks in 6 months, so if u do it safely u can do it. easy work outs- taking stairs instead of the elevator, walking around, and biking is pretty easy.

Hula Hoop you heart out. You can use just a regular hoop or get the water filled ones, They are awesome. Sounds silly but its great cardio and works your abs and lower body great! Also if you hate working out like most people do, find a buddy and take up raqeutball or tennis plus its fun. Remember your not trying to be great your going to be running for the ball most of the time anyways which is good.

50 lbs in 6 months is ambitious. Try aiming for 25. You will need to do some cardio, eg walking, elliptical, stairmachine, anything that will get your heart rate up.

Walking is nummber one. Try about 3-4 miles a day.
Second is press ups. About 30-40 a day

Swimming, yoga, pilates.
These are low stress exercises. Although there is no easy way to loose that much weight without working hard.
If the work out isnt strenuous for you, then its not working, or doing anything for you.
