Somtimes ill eat it with 1% milk.

And rice cakes, or plain cereal.

Not even close to enough.

You can easily slip into starvation mode on this plan. You need to eat at least 1200 calories per day. Your diet also seems to be lacking in fruit, vegetables, fiber, and dairy products. If you add these in, you will probably hit the 1200 calorie minimum to prevent starvation mode. And, with an hour of exercise per day, you probably need to eat closer to 1500 per day.

Count your calories... it's the only way to monitor if you are eating too much or too little.

Here's what you are eating:

Cup of Rice Chex: 120 calories
3 Plain Rice Cakes: 105 calorie
Jello: 20 calories for 2
1 cup homemade Chicken Noodle Soup: 75 calories

That's only 320 calories. That's no where near enough!

Not enough. Consuming this few of calories will actually do more harm for your long-term weight loss prospects than it will help. When your body consumes too few calories it goes into starvation mode and actually requires fewer calories to function on a daily basis. When this happens and then you go back to a semi-normal eating routine, you put on weight easier than you would have before.

With an hour of exercise a day, the last poster was right, you are going to want to have about 1500 calories a day. Spread this out over 5 or 6 meals. This will help your glucose levels remain at higher levels and you will feel more satisfied throughout the day. Also, ditch the jello and pick up a piece of real fruit. Milk is good for you...try skim if you are worried about calories. At lunch, have a chicken breast salad with non-fat dressing or a sandwich with whole wheat bread and turkey.

Overall, as your diet stands right now, it is not nutritionally balanced enough and you are essentially starving yourself. Nobody can last on a diet like this for any good amount of time. Weight loss requires making lifestyle changes that are sustainable over long periods of time...not 20 day fixes. Make some changes that you can really live with and I promise you that you'll be happier and healthier in the long run.

You're eating too LITTLE. You need a LOT more calories in your diet. If you are exercising for an hour, you probably burn at least 800 calories in that alone. Typically just everyday activities burn around 1800 calories. You need to just cut back your caloric intake by about 300 calories a day in order to lose weight in a healthy way. Right now you're starving your body of calories and eventually it will begin to retain ANYTHING you give it (hence, barely eating won't help you lose weight). Add milk to your cereal in the morning, and some fruit. Eat a light snack mid-morning and mid-afternoon to hold off hunger pangs. Add more protein to your diet and more vegetalbes (you have none, not healthy). Try steaming vegetables if you don't like them raw.

Go here to calculate how many calories you burn in an average day. Then simply cut back your caloric intake (food) by about 300-500 calories a day. Cutting 500 calories a day will help you lose 1 pound a week, 3,500 calories = 1 pound of weight/fat.

Not enough, especially since your exercising and hour a day. You need to throw in some meat. Your body needs more protein. If you continue to eat the way that you are then you need to excerise less.

You are NOT eating enough. You need to eat more if you are going to exercise that much. If you are not careful you could faint or end up in the hosiptal if you keep going with this diet

I know that I would be starving....and I am grouchy when I am hungry.....I don't think that you are getting close to the amount of calories you need to eat....in order to lose weight you just have to burn more calories then you take in....
