Well Sani, the reason for forgiveness is for your benefit, and, not the benefit of the offender. Forgiveness means to cast aside, or, to release the offender from the responsibility of the offense. They don't even have to be aware of the fact that they have been forgiven. As the scriptures indicate, that you are to forgive, because it is required of you. And, through your obedience to the word, you are renewed. Whether you inform the offender that you have forgiven them is solely up to you, but, not scripturally necessary. It is intended to be an act of faith between you and God, and, therefore, he will cleanse you of the anxiety that the offense has created. Look at it this way. God says to forgive our enemies, yet, when we forgive them, they may very well still see us as their enemy. But, God sees you as an obedient child, and, says that it is you that will receive the reward of emotional cleansing. Forgiveness, and you receive. Harbor resentment, you don't receive. So, if for no other reason, forgive because it is the right thing to do!

Good luck and God Bless!

hon, if they hurt you that bad, they don't deserve your forgiveness!! but if you really want to forgive them, and if they really want your forgiveness, then think of all of the good times you had together, and how your life was so much better with them. but dont immediatly go crawling back to them because it will show that you are very vulnerable and they can do it over again. it may sound hard, but if you realize that you need to forgive them, thats the hardest part, and its already done!

GOOD LUCK!!!

Why would you want to?
Life is too short to live like that. There are plenty of good people out there.
Find new friends.

No one says you have to (unless you're Christian)..

Sometimes just leaving the person alone and staying away from them is the best...

Sorry!
