I can't understand people like you
you damage a car why you don't just
leave a note and let your insurance pay
for what you break?
how you feel if you find it $800 dollars of damage in your car?
not for nothing but people spend a lot money
to purchase a car and is not very funny
to find damage in your car especially if you love your car
please next time you do something like that
leave a note or wait for the owner and apologize
for what you done and pay for what you break..
do that for yourself respect
because you never know maybe someone see you
and then you going to pay more to what you supposte to pay
that is how a civilized person act.

I think it depends on what state you are in. But you could at least get a ticket. And of course, you'd have to pay for their damages.
In good conscience you should notify the police or at least the mall. Unless that person reported it to the police or the mall though, they may not be able to find them.
Of course I am biased. This has happened to my car twice where someone hit it and drove away. Once, the day I had to put my 17 year old dog from childhood down, and then the 2nd time was the day before Thanksgiving. Both times ruined my bumper. That first time cost me over $2500. Wasn't fair.

Hope nobody saw you and if you are ever in that situation again...suck it up and notify the owner..if not karma will get you trust me!!

Your chances of getting caught are slim. If you are caught, paying the damage to the vehicle. I agree with one of the previous answers, that law enforcement is not going to be to concerned with an accident at the mall. UNLESS you left Major damage. Then you could be ticketed with leaving the scene and pay that fine in addition to the vehicle damages.
However, that said, here comes my soap box comment...would you appreciate it if someone left the scene after hitting your car. That person will now have to file a claim with their insurance for something that they should not have to pay for. Just something to think about.

It's leaving the scene of an accident, even tho' it was done on private property. OTOH, cops are loath to write up auto accidents on private parking lots. The mall security cameras might get you.

It's according to what state this occurred in and the laws of that state. In my state you would pay a fine and lose your driver's license. If the accident resulted in an injury and you left the scene, you would be charged with a felony.

This is pathetic....you cost someone a loss of their hard earned money by damaging their property and then YOU decide to drive on?????
This is whats wrong with our country...everybody cares only about themselves and not their responsibility to do the RIGHT thing!
Maybe someone should damage YOUR car and drive away!
If you don't TRY to contact the police and say..."Hey...I accidentally hit a car but want to do what is RIGHT...you are pathetic!
Thanks for the 2 points......LOSER!

run and never look back. if you do look back, you'll get caught, and probably go to jail forever. Maybe even the death penalty.
