There is no evidence that he exists. None.

.....Because of the following:

First, you have to define the term "God." The problem with most
theists is that this term is a moving target.

In addition, because there is no evidence either for or against the
existence of God, you cannot use deductive logic (a+b=c; therefore c-b=a). You can only reach a conclusion by inductive reasoning using the balance of evidence (90% of A is also B; C is B, so the chances are 90% that C is also A).

So to begin with, I will assert (and others may shoot this down) that the only RELEVANT definition of God states that he intervenes to circumvent natural laws.

If God circumvents natural laws, then it is impossible to understand natural laws. All scientific findings would have to include the stipulation, "it is also possible that these results are an act of God, a miracle, thereby making our research meaningless."

However, since we have been able to expand our knowledge of natural laws (evidenced by every appliance in your kitchen), the scientific method works in this discovery. And the likely conclusion is that God, at least the intervening kind, does not exist.

Additionally, if God is defined as all loving, all powerful, and all knowing, then it is impossible to explain suffering. Either God is not all loving (he acts sadistically), not all powerful (he cannot prevent suffering), or not all knowing (he created suffering by mistake because he didn't know the consequences of his actions).

If God is less than these and/or does not intervene in our existence, then he is either non-existent or irrelevant. The classic Bertrand Russell argument is that I cannot prove that a china teapot is orbiting the sun between the earth's orbit and Mars. But while I cannot prove this is not true, the evidence against it is compelling.

The evidence against God is equally compelling, and while it is not possible to prove beyond any doubt, it makes enormously more sense to live your life as if there were no God.

It is more compelling to me that humans have invented God (a) to help people deal with the pain and fear associated with death and loss, and (b) to reflect the thoughts of the ruling powers in a particular time. Because humans are always looking for reasons, when none were found, it was the natural inclination to declare the cause to be "God" (or gods). As the faith grew, miracles (coincidences) and laws were ascribed to this Divinity, and an orthodoxy grew up around it.

Now it seems unhelpful to believe in such superstition. The only matters that aid in our ongoing well-being are work, location, health, sustenance, and pure, blind luck.

So that's why I don't believe God exists. And you know what? It's okay if you do believe God exists.

It just, over the years, started to seem more and more ridiculous to me to think that there's some sort of "being" out there. It's like the way most people think now when they're taught about Greek Myths in school. You hear about Zeus, and Aphrodite, and Athena. We know that these gods were invented because humans started to look for ways to explain things that they couldn't understand--like the sun rising and setting, the weather, life, disease, etc. They thought that something--some "being" had to be making things happen, because they didn't understand WHAT the sun was, or WHERE the rain came from. Now we know and understand these things, but we haven't really been able to let go of the idea of gods. (Or A God.) I started to feel that we were stuck in a sort of primitive mind-set, and I started wondering why their beliefs were considered silly and ours weren't. They believed in gods, we believed in “a” God. We had no more proof that ours was correct then they had that theirs was correct.
All people are born atheists. You are "taught" to believe in something, and expected to believe in it despite there being no evidence to show that any of it's true. (That's why they start teaching you as children. Children will believe anything their parents or another trusted adult tells them. If you had heard nothing of religion or God until you were an adult, and could think for yourself, you probably would have thought it was a bunch of nonsense, too.) Some people buy into those teachings for their entire lives, others don't. I don't.
(Sorry this is so lengthy, I just can't begin to explain it in a few short sentences.)

There is not enough evidence supporting a intelligent designer, while the question I consider is still open I must take into account for the possibility that there is not a god. The bible version of god sounds vindictive and evil in my understanding and I wouldn't follow such a vile being. While science has not proved everything yet, it have made far greater strides, than any book/bible on the subject and with far greater consistency.

NOTE: I am agnostic, usually lean towards Atheist side, but still don't believe enough evidence is there.

Because when you really stop and think about it, the idea of God is completely irrational. In order to believe in God you must "let go" of logical thinking and believe something that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Not to mention the fact that there is no empirical evidence that God exists.

I am not going to say I don't believe in a god because there is no proof, or I haven't physically seen him with my own eyes, or because he doesn't personally help me with the problems I have in my life, to justify my beliefs with such reasoning would seem ignorant or childish to me.

I believe people will put their faith into god for guidance, help, and motivation to continue their life. Hard times call for putting your faith into something, and I choose to believe in myself and the few people I can love and trust. I choose to persevere through hardship with wit and might alone. We all need a fallback to rely on, and I not only fully understand why some would reach out to the lord, but I respect it to the utmost. It is better to believe in something then nothing. However, religion is just not for me.

I don't believe in god because the concept of a creator is simply an easy explanation of all things unexplainable. When those things that were previously unexplainable became explainable, the god concept became less and less relevant, thus proving its non-existence. Also, having faith in a deity (any) is a crutch that allows one to not see the big picture and to put their faith into something intangible.

I have examined the evidence and found it lacking in crediability, full of contradictions and highly devisive in trying to control my liberty, not giuide my spirituality.

Thus I grew up, discovered science, and with it a far more reasonable explanation to the creation of the world. Freed of my old supersticions, I now apply common sense and open mind to most situation I encounter.

I dont belive in GOD because - the whole idea that there is a man who created the earth sounds dumb. And also, if he did create Adam and Eve, and those two had kids who had kids who had kids, somewhere down the line of mass produced brother sister babies, would be a couple with down syndrome who would then reproduce and give birth to us-down syndrome infected people!

I DON'T WANT TO!

i have no proof that he(she?) exists, and there is a lot of scientific evidence that he does not exist.
plus, the bible is full of contradictions. no "perfect" god could have written that.

also... since YOU believe in god, you must have read the part of the bible where god gave everyone FREE WILL and i'm using mine now by choosing not to believe in this fairy tale.

because:
There is absolutely no evidence to support it

It is an unneccessary hypothesis

which God(s) are we talking about

I simply don't believe it

The accounts contradict themselves.

There is more evidence for the existence of bigfoot and the person who started that confessed it was a hoax.

how many more reasons are needed.

and of course, God is an Invisible Pink Unicorn.
