My hair's oily so I have to wash daily and blow dry it. I condition daily, but not the roots because it is oily. I've used a variety of conditioning and strengthening products but nothing seems to work well enough. It's driving me crazy!

Try getting a blow drying that uses Ions. They even have one that does Ion and ceramic heat so you don't damage your hair so much. Conair makes the one I use.

I know that not blowing is probably not an option. If you have hair like mine it must blow dried. Plus as an oily scalp person I also know that if you don't blow dry it the oily comes back faster. That's no fun when just hours later you are oily again. I would suggest taking a look at the products you use on your hair. Something you are using is cause your hair to dry and split. My thougths would be to switch to a more natural hair care line and stay away from silicones. Silicones can make you hair look shinny but in the end it will build up. Natural shine is the best shine and once you get your hair from splitting the shine will come back.

If you can't find more natural products my rec's would be Lush or Aveda. Aveda is very gentle on the hair and can even help you mange the oily scalp. Same with Lush. I personally use Lush.

Also if you color your hair you may want to find some that is more gentle. Redkens EQ shades is gentle and they have a great selection.

Best of Luck

YOU MAY NOT BE CUTTING ENOUGH OFF! STOP BLOW DRYING IT! THATS DAMAGING IT MORE THAN YOU CAN EVEN IMAGINE! DONT WASH EVERYDAY EITHER, THAT OIL THATS AT THE ROOTS NEEDS TO GET TO THE ENDS. BRUSH IT MORE TO GET THE OIL DOWN THERE. THIS IS HOW YOU CAN TELL HOW MUCH DAMAGED HAIR YOU HAVE: AFTER YOU WASH IT LET IT AIR DRY, THEN LOOK AT WHAT HAIR DRIES VERY, VERY QUICKLY. THATS WHAT NEEDS TO COME OFF. IF ITS A LOT IM SORRY. I HAVE HAD VERY LONG BLEACHED HAIR FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS AND I NEVER HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SPLIT ENDS.

The next time u trim ur hair u may want to cut just a lil bit more off. Also stray away from heating tools. They will cause ur hair to dry out leading to split ends. Try something lite just for ur ends. That will help. Keep up wit ur trims and drink lots of water.

if you cut your split ends and 2 days later they are back... your hair is severely over processed or damaged. I recommend a deep conditioning and a leave in conditioner for that added moisture that you need. See your local beautician for better feedback. They are the professionals and there are not too many types of hair they can't repair!

you may desire to alter conditioners or do some intense warm oil remedies you're rather the only guy or woman who's analyzing your hair so heavily. no one else notices. in the experience that your hair is splitting a a million/2 inch in length you may additionally decide for to confirm a doctor or nutritionist. decrease, yet be careful.

I would try buying a good conditioner from the salon. They can get pricey but they always have great products.(ask your hairstylist which one to use). Also next time you get a trim cut back a little more hair than usual. Also try taking a skin, hair and nails vitamin. They sell them basically everywhere and help with damaged hair (they also make your nails and skin nice).Hope this works!!!Good luck!!

First up your intake of water and get a good vitamin. A great conditioner on your hair works wonders. Also reduce the amount of heat you use on your hair.
