Hey mum: I'm a kid, and I messed up.
Don't worry though, I don't drink, take drugs or have unprotected sex!
And I'm gonna grow up to have a nice job, where you can be proud of me!

Why do you think you got the bad grade?
If this is unlike you then I would go and tell your mum that you are sorry that you got the bad grade and that you will try harder next time.
If there really isn't a good explanation for the bad grade then just tell her that.
Mothers know their children pretty well and what seems scary to you really doesn't have to be scary at all. Chances are she will be fine with it if you promise to continue to work hard. :-)

Always start with something good. Like "mom you know I have been doing so great in school and been getting good grades" Then you tell her the bad part. " Well this one class I was having a very hard time with...my pass shows that I'm a good student, but I found myself struggling in this one" Then you end it with that you going to improve on it. " I have failed, but I'm one that will not stay down. I will work on whatever I need to to get a better grade next time" Then you hug and kiss your mom. Its not like she going to send you to jail...so just relax and have a good one on one with her.
Good luck

just be honest- it is that easy.. oh and of course do something nice for her before you tell her, at least that way you will allert her that soemthing is up..
if she grets mad turn on the tears it works a treat... oh and promise to do better in the future.... this is good for around to 3 terms worth but be careful of the wanting to get you tutors to help you our with grades etc...

As long as you passed everything elese, hopefully she wont get mad, just say you tried your best and they had some hard material in that class but you acutally tried and you studied, dont worry you'll be fine, and especially since you dont get them that much, I would think your mom would understand.

honesty is the best policy...just say that you're doing really well in school but there's this one subject that you were having trouble with...you tried your best but you failed...also add that you're going to try harder...good luck =)

just be honest, tell her you, too, are disapointed in your performance, but you know what went wrong and are already working at correcting your mistakes. Than do it.
