We had grout on our ceramic floor and when they came to clean it up, I was amazed at how easy it was to get off... THEY USED VEGETABLE OIL!! :) It came right up. She just poured a little on top, let it sit for a minute and it wiped right off. I use white vinegar to clean my floors. It makes them feel nice and clean and doesn't smell quite as good as commercial floor cleaners, but is better for your tile and has a natural bleaching effect on the grout. I've found that a little borax and a stiff brush work great at getting stains out of grout. We have hard water and our grout in our shower was turning pink. I went in there one day and scrubbed it up with the borax and it looks brand new. Now to attack those kitchen floors!!!

Do it yourself with a Dremel #568 Tile Grout Removal Kit. Set the bit at 1/8-inch and just follow the grout lines. The Dremel will remove just enough to be able to put in a new layer of grout. Regrout. Wait 72 hours then seal using a penetrating grout sealer. Wipe off excess from tiles. Also, make a note to buy a good set of kneepads. Your knees will thank you for it

Most of your consumer-grade rotary tools, like Dremel brand, can be used to remove grout from tile flooring. All you have to do is visit your local retailer and purchase the appropriate bit. I believe it is Dremel part number 570.
