Horse Slaughter... Oh God, what a debate.
It is used for human food in other countries. Try importing the meat.
To whomever wrote that a horse is gentle, remember that a cow is gentle, a feasent is gentle, a rabbit is gentle, a lamb is gentle, etc. Carnivores and ominivores need to eat irregardless of HOW gentle the meat was when it was living.
I hate saying this, being that I'm a horse person. I love all animals. I also eat their meat (but, as long as our econony is good enough to not introduce pets as meat, I will never be caught dead eating dog or horse meat!).

Horsemeat is not available for human consumption in the United States. It is, however, very popular in Europe. The meat is very lean. There are three horse processing plants in the US, one in Illinois and one in Texas that I am sure of. The meat from horses that they process is sent overseas.

attempt Canada, or see in case you will locate it in an import/export shop which sells products from Europe or the Pacific Rim countries. lots of something of the worldwide consumes horsemeat- certainly, in many places it fairly is seen to be a delicacy, alongside with in France, to illustrate. it fairly is basically that right here interior the U. S., we've a cultural taboo against ingesting it- that's why we banned slaughter of horses a year or so in the past. by skill of how: for a majority of those people who stated bypass look interior the puppy nutrition component to your community shop, ignore approximately THEM !! Federal nutrition and drug rules limit manufacturers of such products from utilising meat from ANY animal which has been euthanized, because of the fact the medicine used to try this ARE poisonous to people and animals alike. If it could kill a horse, it could KILL US, too, besides as canines, cats, and different animals that can eat such meat. those comparable rules additionally REQUIRE manufacturers to record ALL factors used, on each and every CAN OF puppy nutrition THEY sell. organizations which fail to abide by skill of those rules face HEAVY FINES, and there have been situations wherein the executives who run them have confronted criminal lawsuits as a consequence. for many such organizations, it fairly is basically no longer properly worth IT, so as that they abide by skill of the regulation. in case you doubt any of what i'm asserting, next time you're on the shop, examine THE LABELS on the cans of puppy meals. not one of the main dogs and cat nutrition organizations, alongside with Purina, Alpo, Pedigree, Iams, Eukanuba, or Nutro, use horsemeat in something they sell. in the event that they did, they had could desire to assert so- it rather is the regulation. so a good distance as flavor is going, I even have on no account eaten horsemeat, so i would be unable to remark on that. i do no longer evaluate people who do consume it to be ill or something like that, because of the fact i be responsive to that the U. S. is very almost the only u . s . on the earth which has one in each and every of those squeamish thoughts-set in the direction of its intake. something of the worldwide does not view issues that way.

i don't think you can buy it
it's like asking for dog meat
people just don't eat that stuff here
