My cousin who is currently a studying Jehovah Witness, was dating this girls on and off for over ten years, but just recently I believe he's broken it off with her because he said he's now ready to look for a wife who by the would also be a studying witness. He says he feels really bad about not being able to be with her, but he doesn't want her to start hating Witness'. I told him that I thought she wouldn't hate Witnesses because they haven't done anything to her, its's him she would probably be really mad at. Is he just saying this because he wants to stay in contact with her and maintain a friendship with her? What does he really mean?

Perhaps the cousin privately hopes that his former girlfriend will herself decide to study with Jehovah's Witnesses, but the cousin realizes that it would be wrong to put her in a situation where she must decide between being a Witness or being alone.
