The world has problems, only the USA has the power to fix them in most cases.
We can either get involved or look away.
Right now we are looking away while hundreds of thousands die in the Sudan.
Under Clinton we did nothing when millions died in Rawanda.
The UN is a joke, it has never "kept the peace". Only when US leadership has been involved has conflict been stopped.
The next crisis will either be confronted by the USA or ignored. If it is ignored thousands will die.
The alternative is for the USA to choose sides in the world's conflicts and become involve, causing thousands less to die. That is not always a bad thing. Saddam and Serbia were mass murdering thugs. It is good someone went out of their way to stop them.
Odds are with the "Peace" movement now we will never do anything about Darfour, Zimbabwae or the next unknown crisis. Lets give the US peace movement credit for the next million preventable deaths. Deaths that the US could prevent at the cost of a fraction of the otherwise likely deaths.
Eventually the world will become sickened and the peace movement will wither away. But it is unlikely we will act in the next world crisis until it is too late again.

It depends. If it is a Democratic president then we can expect Al Quaeda to rebuild their network and another 9/11 event in about 3-4 years.

The world is at war, it doesn't matter who the next president is, there will be a hiccup, and then it will be back to war fighting.
Wake up and smell the jihad.
