Ignorance and laziness. I think that people are more willing to be spoon-fed information by the media (news reports) than to spend 10 minutes reading about what Islam truly means.

I was a former Catholic turned Agnostic and was searching for my place in religion. I found that I truly believe the messages passed down in the Qur'an. The message is of Peace, not what people see in the news about the Radical grous (Shi'a, Al-Qaeda, Taliban, etc).

I have NO question about my faith; Jesus Christ is Lord!

It isn't so much judging Islam (even though I believe it's a false religion) it's about those cultures that follow Islam and incorporate their tribal customs that are judged (as you put it).

Why is it that ancient Islamic societies became stagnant? Once, a very long time ago many Muslims made great contributions to mankind meaning math and sciences, why has Islamic society now become stagnant?

Why are a large majority of Muslims stuck with a 7th century AD mentality, haven't you noticed that the rest of the world has passed you by.

Instead of bringing peace, people like the terrorists of 9/11 who were islamic used their faith as an excuse and same with other similar cases so it probably just made people think negatively about islam before they even studied and understood it. I dont know anything really about islam so thats my point of view

I do not pre-judge Islam.

I find that there are a lot of Islamic hypocrites out there.

Islam translates as "Peace"

How can anyone claim to be following a religion of peace when committing terrorism?

Islamic Jihad = peaceful holy war

The only peaceful holy war ever waged was by Gandhi. He made the british empire pack up thier toys and go home by: NOT EATING.
No guns
No bombs
No corpses.

I'm not accusing all followers of Islam of being terrorists. But any member of your faith who in any shape manner or form commits acts of violence is by definition a hypocrite.

I think most judge because of 9/11 and all that goes with that.

I do not comment about Islam because it is a religion I have not studied. I try to limit my responses to things I have actually had experience with or at least information on.

I studied Islam for five years, while resident in Saudi Arabia, and concluded that it was just as nonsensical as Christianity. The Qur'an has errors, although not nearly so many as the bible -- but this is mostly due to its structure, which has far fewer historical claims (which are checkable) than the bible does. As for faith, it should not only be questioned, it should be condemned: faith is the deliberate rejection of the essence of one's humanity -- the ability to think. And what could be worse than to intentionally turn oneself into an animal?

Because those who judge Islam don't have any background in it. They don't know any real Muslims in person, they've never been to a masjid, they've never read the true Quran, they can't speak a lick of Arabic, they have never stepped foot into a library, and if they ever tried to debate a professor of religious studies, they'd be verbally ***** smacked.

Those people who complain about Islam are sheep who have jumped on the bandwagon of claming Islam and Muslims are the scapegoat for society's problems. They are hateful, ignorant Orientalists with nothing better to do.

The fact that we do understand islam is why we can so accurately and harshly judge. It's nothing but a false teaching and has actually made my faith in God even stronger. The Holy Bible warned us about false prophets. What I don't understand is how anyone could actually accept islam as a religion.

May God Bless you.

Read about the behaviour of the founder of Islam, ask yourself how you can expect any sensible person to believe a 'holy' person would behave in that way?
Raiding and looting camel trains, killing and fighting, nine wives etc.etc. etc.
We don't even have to read the Quran, as they say, ACTIONS speak louder than words.
Jesus was the shining example of how a holy person should behave. The closer to His example, the more holy a person is.

don't be so quick to judge non-muslims. Technically, everone judges everything. All I know is that Muslims serve Allah and have a problem accepting Jesus' Divinity.

and I don't mind my faith being questioned. Excersize makes you stronger....
