My girlfriend & I should have £900 each for a holiday come November/December. We'd both like to go somewhere faraway with nice beaches. I was thinking Jamaica, Thailand etc but dont know what the weather will be like. Thought i'd come on here as opposed to go to a travel agent who just want to sell you the product. Many thanks.

I live in Turkey and know there are flights here in winter but it's cold at night. My mate goes to Thailand every year and says it's brilliant so give it a go because if someone from Turkey can say the another country is cheap then it's mega cheap. Have a good one !!!

Go to Thailand but be careful of bag snatchers on motor bikes. Cape Town is in the middle of Summer with some of the best scenery on earth and with your exchange rate a bargain.
Each and every island on the Caribbean are about the same people and not cheap because they cater to Americans. Stay out of Jamaica if you did not want to be disappointed, watch the drug scams and stings; even the local police are into it. . .be warned!
Go to a library and get the 'Lonely Planet' guide book for those areas/countries and review it for lodgings, how to get there and away, nuisances and annoyances. . .hey it's all there. Then make a decision, right you do not need a travel agent do it your self and save the premium price.

Thailand is a beautiful place to go and I would highly recommend it. Also this time of year is very good. The Maldives are beautiful too and very romantic, but I think the best time there is Feb/March. Carribean is always a good one, we went to Antigua in October and the weather was terrific (just don't stay at the Rex Halcyon hotel - it's a bit decrepit). If you can stretch to it, I would highly recommend Australia at that time of year. Go visit Mercury Direct on www.mercury-direct.co.uk they specialise in Australia and have some fantastic deals. We have travelled with them a couple of times and they have been amazingly organised. Also think of Sri Lanka, it's a country that is stunning, wonderful beaches and scenery and they are actually desperate for tourism.

I'm currently fighting the Jamaican Yardies in Grand Theft Auto. TBH I'm put off on Jamaica by stories of how it can be violent.... more so outside the compounds of luxury hotels. On the otherhand my sister and her friends went and had a great time... going to the local nightclubs too.

I'd opt for the Caribbean...tons of places to chose from that will have lovely weather that time of year. What they offer varies a lot from place to place: culture, recreation, etc. Get yourself some travel brochures and study up!

I think the Caribbean will mean spending less time on the to and fro, leaving more time for enjoying your trip...

heard people in my job talking about Jamacia, from what I heard, I wouldn't recommend it at all. Harrassment from the moment you land til you leave.

Somewhere different try Malaysia, Maldives, Goa, Bali.. I was thinking of going to Cuba myself..

enjoy
