its more like a upgraded version of XP...it just has a couple more options to it but it also goes the other way also, the system has to constantly have administrative options done to it if a setting is needed to be changed.

I consider it more of a visual upgrade than anything else. The security features are a joke in my opinion, its Microsoft's version of tying to imitate a Linux with a KDE interface, that really doesn't cut it if you want a secure system. Considering its hardware requirements and cost, I really don't consider it a viable option as for the time being while higher end technology is still costly. A computer for most uses will go for less than $500 and with XP installed for about $89 - 139. Vista costs around $139 - 250. Though its initial licensing is not too far off from XP, the hardware requirements make it more expensive for full functionalilty.

Type "vista problems" in the Search for questions box above.
Meanwhile, you are not limited to MS operating systems. Try out some of the free LINUX distributions. You can explore them from a LIVE CD.

Worst operating system ever.
Loaded with DRM that severly limits what it will allow you to do with your own computer.
Don't believe it?
Then you should read this short article from Forbes Magazine.
http://www.forbes.com/security/2007/02/10/microsoft-vista-drm-tech-security-cz_bs_0212vista.html
That should answer all of your questions about Vista.
Infact Vista is so bad that many people are looking for alternatives in the form of Linux and Mac and the Windows addicts that are agrivated with it are inquiring as to how they can revert back to XP.
