Smoking does a lot of damage to many areas of your body. Smoking causes the part of your lungs that carries your mucous up and out on a regular basis to be paralyzed for 3 hours with just one puff. This is why people have what is called a "smokers cough". It turns your lungs black because of the nicotine and if smoked long enough can create holes in your lungs. Smoking irritates your lungs and airways as well as others around you even if you go outside to smoke and then come back inside just the nicotine on your clothing can irritate an already sensitive lung like an asthma sufferer. Also smoking can directly affect your immune system making it much harder for your body to fight off illnesses. These are just a few of the major effects of smoking.
