I know you must be extremely frustrated. None of us on the web know your history but I am a pediatric Physical therapist. Your chances are probably good for a full recovery but you may have to be patient. Write down any questions you have when you think of them. Take them with you on your next neurological appointment or call your doctor. Best Wishes for a full recovery.

Hi there,
I have a friend who was hit by a car last year, her brain swelled and she had a few operations. her memory has been affected since but she was told within 2 years it would return...but she's getting better all the time. They also told her she'd be in hospital for 18mths yet she was out in like 6mths..so it all depends on the person. Have you asked your doctor about your memory returning? I don't want to give you false hope or the wrong answer, obviously no one can really give an accurate time scale for this but if your doctor said it's not permanet then don't stress out about it, i know it must be stressful but your doing really well....take each day as it comes..ur young and have a good chance of recovery to the best of your ability.

My best advice would be toask your doctor or get a referal to a neurologist who specialises in brain/head injurys and conditions

Best of luck x

The brain is not something that is very well known. It might suddenly come back tomorrow, and it might never come back. Not even the best doctor in the world could give you an accurate time-frame, no matter how many scans he takes.

The key is doing your best to learn to live with what you have today and hope for the best. There was a gal I worked with who had to take detailed notes on everything and learn to be very organized (after she lost short-term memory due to a stroke in her 30s). She coped by finding a way to use paper as her memory.

hey,
cheer up,this is a temporary problem, just follow ur doc's advice and take a lot of rest ,u'll be ready 2 rock again in no time.....
moreover v r all confused at 15 with or without epilepsy, so chill out and move on with life, meditate for about 10 -20 minutes daily, this will help in improving ur memory.
take care

You need to ask your neurologist that.

No one here can tell you. The doctor has all your records and knows whether the damage is permanent or not and when you can expect to progress.
