Good editing software?

I am in the production stage of making an independent documentary film, and I am approaching the time when i will be editing it, putting narrations on it, and putting music on it. I would like to know what the best software for editing is. by the way I am using a samsung mini-dv digital-cam SC-D353.

Just got Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and I like it, but I haven't gone digital camera-wise yet, so.... They got rave reviews for digital/HD but I can't give you first hand input on that.
