What are you updating? Virus software? Drivers? Windows? A little more information would be helpful.

Yep, we need details! ...and ditto the above two! One other is (heh, heh) keep a copy of an old folder, make changes, then on the command line, enter xcopy c:\newfolder\*.* c:\oldfolder\ /d (which will copy all files to the old folder which have been updated...)

Upgrade you pc ... meaning windows? I agree ad some more detail. Go here if are are wanting to update your windows.
