Being a Northerner we call them Banana butties........they are the best along with Crisp butties of pretty much any flavour crisp, Bacon butties too. But top of the list has to be a Chip Butty.

Making me hungry now just thinking about em.

I used to like banana sandwiches - and so did my sister, but I have found that I am allergic to them, so cannot eat them anymore.

I worked in a camp in America for six weeks and the Americans an Brits alike would make gagging noises when I took out by little bottle of Bovril (Beef flavour!). I do not know why! It is lovely, especially on Matzoh or crackers.

I've never had a plain banana sandwich, but I like banana and peanut butter sandwiches.
I also like taking some bread (no butter), and wrapping it around a carrot stick and eating it. I don't know how I first thought of that, but I really like it!

Banana and raisin toasted sandwiches are delicious too! My friend does these with nutella, but I think that's a step towards decadence too far!

On the crisp theme, I love egg mayonnaise and salted crisp sandwiches - gives them a wonderful crunch!

I loved peanut butter and banana sandwiches when I was a kid. Still like them. Banana's are nice fried in olive oil or in crapes and omelets too. A friend of mine froze banana's as is as snacks. Hhahahahaha! open the mind. As long as it is healthy give it a shot.

One bad combo for me was a banana and spinach smoothy my dad made, nutritious yet noxious. Sorry dad. Most of his culinary experiments totally rocked. Oh well!

Sardines. They make great, toasted, open face sandwhiches!

Have fun!

I LOVE banana sandwiches. It was one of my favourite sarnies as a kid and I still love them. One of my other favourites is ham and crisps (thick yorkshire ham and cheese and onion crisps preferably, and even better if it's on a large soft white roll).

I know this one isn't technically a sandwich filling, but I love eggy bread (ie bread dipped in beaten egg and fried) spread with raspberry jam...yum!

No, we used to get fed banana sandwiches as kids and I couldn't look at one for years. My sis still eats them. My 3 yr old niece loves to make macaroni cheese sandwiches ! I think more goes on the table than in her mouth. My auntie used to serve us sliced tomato sandwiches, which I thought were foul. My friend used to eat condensed milk with sugar sprinkled on top, in bread. I don't have any weird tastes...other than ice cream with salted peanuts mixed in, but I draw the line at having bread with it !....GARY24130.....I know where you're coming from !

Two thick slices of squidgy white bread spread thickly with butter, sliced bananas in the middle, squashed together so that the bananas ooze out the sides. Don't ya just love it! Yum Yum!
