Look on the label. Chocolate is mostly fat - horrible, ordinary, greasy fat with a chocolate and sweet taste added..

By counting calories.

I eat between 1400 and 1600 per day. I know that if I have eaten 1350 calories, and I'm craving chocolate, I can have up to 250 calories of chocolate without feeling guilty.

That's 1 serving of ice cream, or Ghiradelli Hot chocolate. If you know you won't sink the diet with a sensible portion size, then you don't have to fight the cravings. Go for high quality, and measure out 1 portion size.

I have a few ways. My first one is to give in. Try buying a kinder egg...the chocolate is so good that you only need a little bit, and its a small and controlled portion. Or try a few squares of super-dark chocolate...its so bitter that you probably won't binge, but it will satisfy the craving (plus, its good for you). If you don't want to give in, look for other tastes you like. I like caramel/toffee flavours, so I keep a bag of sugar free toffees on hand, and have one of these if I get a sweet niggling. I also keep dessert teas and artificial sweetener around; the sweetness kicks any cravings to the curb, and drinking the tea actually fills me up, so I eat even less.

This happend to my teacher one time. She resistded (even with the temptation from her students) chocolate for 1 whole month. By the end of the month, she didn't feel the craving for chocolate.

Hope this helps!

I don't. I find if I try to fight a craving, I will just end up eating more than I intended to. Instead, eat a small amount (one serving or less) of whatever you are craving.

if you're trying to lose weight, find some low-calorie hot chocolate mix... it's not too bad for you and will definitely help those chocolate cravings. don't deny yourself chocolate--if you do, you'll binge on it the first chance you get!
