i've been looking at pictures of puggles, beagles, and pugs and i just don't understand why the puggle would end up bigger than the beagle.

Puggles aren't bigger then Beagles. Beagles can be as tall as 15". Pugs & Beagles used in the designer breeding programs don't use dogs that were bred to standard..so there will likely be a big variance in size.

It depends on the breeding stock used. The problem with these designer dogs is that you can take bad examples of a pure breed, cross it with another, and then you get a "valuable" designer dog. A Pug can come as large as 35 pounds. That's not breed standard, but this dog can still be used for designer breeding. Same with a beagle. It depends on the parents and their size. Puggles, are not a breed. They have no standard to stick to, they are simply a beagle and a pug, who themselves may have been large by their breeds standards. You might also find smaller than average puggles. It just depends.... since they don't have a "goal" when breeding these animals.

A Pug is a lap dog, a Beagle is a hunting dog. So what, the goal is a yodeling lap dog that can hunt and snort out of short nose? Yeah they're cute, but what's the purpose?

So of course the size won't make any sense, the breeding doesn't make any sense either... besides the fact that someone could say they own a Puggle, because that's kinda funny.

I was thinking about a Labradoodle. You get a hypoallergenic lab basically... which makes sense to breed.

Actually I've never seen a puggle that is bigger than a beagle. They are always right around the same size as a beagle.

Beagles come in two sizes above and below 13 inches. Have you been looking at both sizes? Also there is the possibility that either a breed similar to a beagle was used, or an over sized beagle.

Beagles are probably bigger than you think.

Besides, people who make "puggles" do not use good quality breeding stock, so it's quite possible that the parents of the pug/beagle mix could be oversized.

Pugs are frequently around 25-30 kilos, yet Beagles could be as plenty 40 5 kilos (without being extraordinarily undesirable). My guess is someplace in that selection. those new flow breads are too modern to have each and all of the info approximately them yet. Beagles frequently hit the tip of their becoming point around a twelve months to a twelve months and a a million/2. i'm uncertain approximately Pugs however. surely, i could have self assurance the vet till now the clerk. Clerks will BS their way with the aid of your questions in the event that they don't be responsive to. additionally they in simple terms spew out information they have been advised to memorize, so who is conscious in the event that they have been given it precise?

99% of breeder who breed those designer dogs are using non-standard pet quality dogs. Chances are high that both the pug & beagle are larger than typical standard sizes. There is no way to tell what you will get when you randomly pair two dogs together.

If you want a mutt, go to the pound. Don't spend purebred money on a poor quality mutt from a dishonest & unethical breeder.

Beagals are about 10 pounds larger than a pug. A puggle is a cross and they normally are no bigger than a beagal. But it all depends on the size of begal thier are two sizes. Sometimes the larger gene is just there.
