ok.
im moving out in august and i cannot wait for it. im 21, and i still live with my parents, whom i have good relationships with.
however, when they get into bad moods, which of course is normal, the energy in the house goes way down.
its just the 3 of us and so we all effect eachother. when they arent getting along well, or are just having a bad day with one another, it bugs the hell out of me because my dad will come into my room and ask 'whats the matter with her'? or something all the time and it starts getting old after a while.
ive only recently realized it isnt my job to make them happy, but when they arent, i get effected by it WAY too much to the point where i dont even want to come home from school.
does anyone else know what i mean? have you ever experienced it? just not being able to let other peoples issues not effect you?
i need some kind of advice before i expload.
i cant go all the way to august like this.

Probably, if you think about it, it's no more than your friends bother you with every day. I'm a divorced mother of 3 and my teenage daughter and I are very close. I'm dating again and we have no problem having "girl talk" about everyday issues in life. You can listen to them without having to show any kind of partiality or take sides.

For one thing, your father should be asking your mother what's wrong, not you. Next time just politely say you don't know what's wrong, even if you do, and have him go ask her. That will show your mom that he cares that she's upset and open up an avenue of discussion for them. Sometimes men are insensitive without realizing it, and it effects everyone. They need to deal with each other without involving you.
