Hi Charlotte, yes it certainly would! Jogging is the best way to lose weight, and I think you would notice the results in a few weeks - even better :-) Try to eat after you run, and make sure you eat some protein to help restore your muscles that you have used. I hope you enjoy jogging, when I first started I became really addicted!!! All the best, Liza :-)

As long as you are burning off more calories throughout the day as you intake. If you eat a lot of food (even healthy) that adds up to 2300 calories, but you are only burning 2000 calories a day (which is about what most people burn just living) - then you will gain those 300 calories. I forgot how many calories takes to gain a lb, but those 300 will go to the fat cells around your body, and wait for more the next day.
All in all, I'd say you're doing fine.

It would be a great start. It may sound like hard work, it is a bit at first, but once you get used to it it becomes very enjoyable. try and find someone to jog with and it will also help to make it fun.
The trick is as you rightly suggest a combination of less in and more out.
We are increasingly overweight as much because of what we don't do, as what we eat.
Good Luck!!

Yes. It will increase your metabolism so that you will burn more calories even while you sleep and store less fat from what you eat. It will raise your blood sugar if you jog before meal time so your appetite will not be so strong and it will be easier for you to eat less. It will help keep the muscle tissue that you use when jogging from being digested for protein as you reduce your calorie intake severely.

Start with power walking and build up to jogging as the sudden jolts on weak knees could do you harm. And cook everything in olive oil if you have to use oil at all.
