Don't believe all that 'God will find you' stuff!
YOU can make your life better. All you can do is try, and for that you do NOT need to 'find' god! You may as well go and find Allah, or Vishnu, or even Zoroaster, for that matter. They are all conjured up by mankind! If you go looking, you will 'find' the god that most of the people around you believe in. Go to the Middle East, and you will 'find' Allah, go to India and you will 'find' Vishnu, or another of their numerous gods. Go to Tibet, and you will 'find' Buddha! That should tell you the truth about ANY, or ALL, of them! Be good to your fellow men, and you will feel good, but don't expect a reward in the after life. There wont be one! And it's selfish to be 'good' with the hope of a reward later on!

God is right there with you! If you want to make your life better, give him your life. Jesus died for your sins why not live for him. Dont worry I'm not judging you, I'm just as bad, everyone has sinned its human nature. The first thing you need to do is confess. Just tell him you know you have sinned. Go ahead, he can hear you, trust me. Now this might be harder. Youve got to believe that Jesus died on a cross, and came back to life {he is God in the flesh you know} so that your sin could be cancelled. Then repent. Thats asking forgiveness, not just in words, but actions. Wanting to turn away from the things that displease God. Now just promise to live the rest of your life for him. I know it sounds like a lot, but thats all it takes. If your sincere I garuntee he will enter your heart and forgive your sins. Try to find Godly bible believing people to surround yourself with, eveything is easier with support.

just call out to him and listen - he is right here, waiting for you to make contact, he makes contact with you daily but you havent uderstood how to notice it, if you say ''jesus i love you'' listen to the response you get. God is never far from you and he knows your heart - you dont need to go anywhere special to find him and he doesnt just live in a church, and he is not formal, just chat away with him throughout your day. I do biking to work, etc. The feeling of the Holy Spirit is something very powerful, more uplifting than a mega power ballad or an air guitar moment, or a feel good song. as Jesus said in the bible - Draw near to me and i draw near to you, seek and ye shall find, and it may be a really good idea to find a church that suits you, traditional, or gospel funky, or more indie music style churches - many church services are more modern than they used to be, a bit of a rave in the nave lol, switch onto one of the God Channels on SKY - minsters like Joyce meyer (who is so funny and explains things beautifully) The Potters House, John Bevere are my personal favourites for their way of explaining and teaching the gospel, the Love Worth Finding Ministry is very good too - andyou can learn alot from ehay these pastors, ministries have to offer - and maybe going to a bible study will really help you understand terminology and what this and that means -
You will never be alone when you accept Jesus into your life and I swear what ever happens in your life good bad or an absolute test of faith or person GOD KNOWS exactly what you are going through without you having to explain it to him - but remember you have to go through a storm to strengthen your inner and outer self.
You are making the best choice to accept God into your life God Bless
another good place to get yourself started would be on an Alpha Course that many churches and other organisations (like the prison service etc etc) all now run these locally and they are really good, http://alpha.org/default.asp you will also make friends with people like minded.

I watched a bit of the retreat thing on tv last night (Islam this time) and some one said think with your heart not your head (or something like that) it made sense to me. don't think you can find God by thinking, think God is found when you relate to all the great things around you. i should try being in a garden and watching nature stuff, that moved me once.

Well, God is every where. He can be found in all his creations. you just need to look hard. Go for a walk (obviously not on a very windy, miserable day) Download meditation songs in your ipod or something. As serenity washes over you, you begin to feel his presence. try it. It's a great feeling.

God is keener for you to find him than you are!
It may help to talk to a Christian friend you can trust. 0r get in touch with your local Salvation Army 0fficer. But....on your own....
Sit quietly. Then tell God that you want to know Him. Speak aloud if it helps, but you don't need to.
Tell Him you want to be better and that youi need help.
Ask him to be that help.
He cares.
If I can be any further help, feel free to make contact.
I will be praying for you.
