Ok let me put it simple
Go to the auction with plenty of time so you can look at the car and stuff
Another thing i didnt see (May be missed it) Remember there are lots of charges on top of the final price you will buy the car for.
typical example
If you bought car for 500 then final price would normally be between 650 to 680. (It may vary)
Also make sure you take someone with you who knows about mechanincs of car.

Auctions can be great places for bargains but you need your wits about you. Some cars will have no major fault warranties, ie the engine and gearbox are ok. Most auction cars though are sold strictly as seen.

You will be able to look the car over and examine bodywork etc while its parked waiting to go in the ring. Most auctions you wont get inside the car or be allowed to test drive. The only mechanical examination you will get is a quick look under the bonnet when its brought into the ring.

If you intend bidding you will need to start an account and leave a deposit or credit card on file to get a bidders card.
If you win the bidding the car is yours with no backing out. If it blows up between the ring and the car park you will still have to pay.

On top of the final price you will have to pay the buyers premium, normally £50 upwards depending on the car and auction house.

Car Auctions are a great way to get low cost motoring. Cars are sold in to forms "As Is" or "All good". As is means you pay your money and you take your chances, all good means you have one hour after paying for the car to find any problems with it. If there are problems you return the car and get you money back.
If you are not to clued up on cars find a mate who knows about them and take them along. Set yourself a budget and Stick to It!!! Dont get carried away and over bid for the car of your dreams.
Arrive at the Auction about an hour before it starts and have a good look round the cars in the yard. Ideally get there before it gets dark. Another thing to remember there will normally be a few car dealers at these auctions and they will be looking for car that they car sell on, try for something out of the normaly (Strange paint, import car etc).
Try ideally to get a car with an mot and if the worst comes to the worst drive it until it needs a new mot and then put it back into an auction.
One other major thing to remember you will need to sort out some insurance before you can drive the car away. Get an idea what sort of car you would like and then get some quotes together and on the night if you buy a car have the best insurance quote and telephone number handy.
Good luck.

We bought our car at auction. It was parked in the bank parking lot, so we got to look at it first.

There's no warranty on an auction car, what you see is what you get, you buy it "as is" and all sales are final.

Our bid was over 500 more than the next lower bid (it was a sealed bid, nobody knew what anybody else was bidding) we bid high gold book (antique/classic blue book).

That was 21 years ago, we're still driving that car today. We love our '66 Nova. No regrets.

I don't understand your question. Are you talking about eBay auctions? If so go to eBay, then ebay motors, then automobiles and partway down the left side of the page you can enter your zip or posta code and ask them to displace only cars that are close to you. most sellers will show you the car.l

You can look at the car, but be wary at auctions, Not always as many bargains as people think!!! Sometimes people take their dodgy cars for a quick sale!! Please take a mechanic mate to check the car over for you!!
