For your voice, warm water is better (like if you're going to sing or speak in front of people) but I've actually heard that cold water gets absorbed faster, quenching thirst faster. Also, a gallon of ice water takes 130 calories just to warm up to body temperature. So I guess cold water could help you lose weight (kinda).

No. ....What ever is the temrature of the water we are taking, it comes to our body temrature as soon as it reaches the stomach. Although no definite studies has been carried out in expariment and controled models, but it has been shown that exposing body tissues to high temratures can cause dysplasia..meaning the appearance of abnormal cells in particular tissues..So cancer of the oesophagus is more commonly seen in such subjects who take warm water.
The myth behind is that chinese people use hot water for drinking rather than cold water..they drink it before taking their meals and even serve this hot water or yasmin tea, a sort of lemon grass tea without sugar or milk even in very hot days. Slightly cold water dissipates our heat in extreame weather and is so refershing ...isn't it ?

This is what I keep getting told. They say that the room temperature water quenches your thirst faster because you don't drink alot of it. When you have Cold water you have to drink a ton of it to feel satisfied.
When you're sick as well it's not good to drink cold water as it makes your throat sore and makes you want to cough alot.

Child of doubts, it is much healthier to drink cool water and not warm, hot or cold water. It is much healthier to drink 'distilled' water then to drink city tap water, full of harmful chemicals or country well water full of inorganic minerals your body can't metabolize!
Child of fears, it is the Lord's great desire that you turn to Him, and believe in Him, so He's moved me to answer you here! Please give over your reservations, doubts and fears to him in prayer, and he will hear you! God bless

The temperature of water when you drink it affects your internal core temperature. That's why you are supposed to melt snow in your mouth instead of eating it to quench thirst (if you're stranded). The unmelted snow will cool you internally and cause hypothermia.
If someone suffers heat stroke get them out of the sun, and give them cool water, but not much at one time, just a sip. Cool them with a damp cloth, and give them more water slowly.

Some say cold because it causes your body to have to warm the water up causing you to burn more calories.
Others say cold is bad for you because it puts your body into shock.
