mankind has always sought to simplify his life.

through tool use, through efficiency.

Isn't the idea of "one-god" just another shortcut so people don't have to worship different gods for different things?

the whole idea of "making life easier" is a notion man exhibits when he creates other things, why not when he invents his gods and mythologies?

"simplification" of a deity system is bieng lazy as you don't want to spend time with the old system. It is not the same "lazy" as sitting on your butt all day watching davy and goliath, but it is still a way to do less "work".

...and easier through the labour of women and sometimes children as well did you say?hahaha.

Delightful question, you may have something there.
Look for an argument from those that say God invented man. LOL!

Praise the Goddess. I love that line from Jurassic Park...God made man, man made dinosaurs, dinosaurs eat man, woman inherits the earth.

There is only one God. God is almighty, all-powerful, etc. If there needs to be more than one god, then all those gods are all that powerful. I would think that a god or God would be able to do it all on His own, without the help of others. So I see believing in a religion that worships multiple gods is a weaker religion because each one of their gods are weak.

God the Almighty (YHVH) is almighty (ALL mighty) thus He can do anything all by Himself. I'd rather rely on a God that can do it all. I want a powerful God, not a weak one that can only do one thing and has to rely on other gods to do the rest.

I am not lazy because I believe in God. I am lazy when I sit around my house and do nothing all day long. I could be cleaning, I could be helping others in my neighbor or my community, I could be sending notes to my loved one to keep in touch and spread love around, I could be exercising, I could reading and educating myself more, etc. Laziness is a sin. I have to admit that I am lazy from time to time. Like now I am here when I should be doing laundry and getting my oil changed or reading the Bible or visiting my grandmother. When I find myself getting lazy I pray to God for help. I have a purpose and sitting on my butt isn't my purpose. lol But believing in one God doesn't make me lazy, it makes me right.

I suppose you could look at it that way. Personally, I cannot stand monotheism, that's one reason I am a hard-polytheist. I honor a great many Gods and Goddesses.

It also helps by giving mankind someone else to blame when things go wrong.
