if US leaves Iraq the country which is all ready devastated by it will face the worse situations. There would be no law no proper infrastructure, it was far much better in the rule of Saddam than it would be now when both the shia and Sunnis are fighting a bloody war,the war for oil has spilled much blood than oil.The war of Iraq has become 2ND Vietnam for US even if it wants to leave and move out it cant. The war is only won when u kill the enemy and move out as quickly as possible. Now US requires is a systematic approach and a more calm environment so that the Muslim nation can start trusting it.After all its peace what they all want.

Consequences of leaving are an etremist terrorist government gaining power since the Iraqi's are so accustomed of being ruled by fear. There iol revenues would enable them to prop up Hezzbolah in Lebanon to a point of total control. This would make Iran the dominating force in the Middle East and OPEC.
Get used to $8 dollars a gallon and a future Cold War pitting the U.S., Britain, France, Germany, and Italy against China, Russia,Iran, Iraq, India, and the teetering current ally of America, Pakistan.

The Chinese economy alone could sustain a Cold War against America for decades to come eventually bankrupting the American economy as Reagan did to the former USSR.

Invading Iraq was the most logical step in overthrowing the Iranian government whilst losing the least American soldiers.
I believe one of the objectives was to put so much pressure on the Iranian extremist government that they will go bankrupt before they can actually get a nuclear weapon.
Their mostly pro-western peoples will be dissatisfied to say it mildly and overthrow the current extremist.
Let's face it the Sha was the worst as far as the Iranians felt and they have "settled" for an extremist government that has improved living standards for them. If standards drop with their economy teetering on the brink of bankruptsy do not be suprised if another pro-western government emerges with a military coup.

Afghanistan to their east and Iraq on the west. One point of the axis of evil is surrounded and under immense pressure to attain a nuclear power they cannot afford to gain in such a short period of time. Yet it is their only avenue to keep their extremist terrorist sponsoring government intact. Therefore they hope for the best with Achmidinahjhad's statements "We are full steam ahead with our nuclear proliferation." They realize attaining nuclear power is their only hope. That is why they will NOT budge whether discussions are unilateral or multi lateral. This will only buy them time. A commodity that they have very little of.

people who hate liberals would use the opportunity to come up with conspiracy theories and anything bad that happens in the world from then on would be blamed on us leaving.
oh, and the population control (ie: thousands of soldiers dying) would cease. so the US would probably be overrun again with too many people.

seriously, though... some of the things conservatives say could happen. its not impossible that other countries would try to come over and take over. that happens in places where the US isnt, so it would make sense that it would continue to happen. as for there being more terrorism or anything like that, i dont know that they could actually hate us any more than they do. and i know not all of them are like that, but a large majority are.

the problem isnt that terrorists are forming and its a new thing. they have been around for hundreds of years. the problem is that there are now so many ways for them to access the US and other targets now. the more technology we develop, the more access "bad people" have (but same with the "good" people")

i dont get how taking our troops out and securing our borders and focusing on protecting our country would be a bad thing. if iraq is going to fall under the influence of those other countries, it will happen whether or not we are there. we cant stay there forever. if we instead focus on making sure we have all the help we can and are as safe as we can be, i think that is the best bet for our country.

its time for the US to stop trying to dictate how the rest of the world runs.

If the US pulled out of Iraq, it would be devastating for the Middle East. Every country around Iraq would try to take over and end up killing each other even more. What we don't realize in the US is that these people haven't learned to separate church and state so how can we instill democracy in them. WE haven't even figured out how to run a democracy properly. How can we go teach things we know nothing about to other countries? I hope you conservative idiots are happy. All you've done is reelected a dumb cowboy who created more terrorists during his presidency than any other president in history.........good job!

Iran, Syria, and Saudi Arabia would pour into Iraq and try to form new governments based on their beleifs. (One of those is one religion and the other two are the same, so they might ally themselves against the other) It would be similar to the Korean War, or Vietnam w/ the US trying to spread capitalism and Soviets/China trying to spread communism.

Terrorists would take the country over, and all those American lost lives would be for nothing.
