Yes, but not enough to make a meaningful difference in burning calories, the only time it would be worth the discomfort (assuming you aren't a fan of hot food) is if luisa_map is right and it acts as an appetite suppressant.

i have read this to be true, but they need to be very hot! apparantly if you eat them for supper you burn up more calories whilst you sleep. If you can tolerate the heat sounds too good to miss out on.
