Mexico, other than Canada (and most Canadians want to stay put) is the only country that has easy access to crossing the border. Anyone else has to either find difficult access such as stowing away or hoping on a raft which will of course limit the number of illegal immigrants from those countries. Otherwise they need to go through the airport generally and it's a lot more difficult to come to America illegally that way because they need to get Green Cards if they have any intention of a long stay in America. Then the country keeps close tabs on these people to make sure they go back once the Green Card expires.

Do you mean into the United States? Mexico is the answer, definitely.

In Western Europe, there is a lot of illegal immigration from Asia and Africa, as well as parts of Eastern Europe (including the Balkans) not yet EU members.

Strange, this sounds like an opinion question. So why are so many people getting bad ratings for their opinion? Especially when it is only one word: Mexico. Oh, by the way, my answer is also Mexico.

Do you really need to ask this question? Anyways, no hurt feelings here. As you have already heard, the ony thirld world uneducated country next to us is Mexico, so obviously that's where the bulk of the illegals are comming...

This isn't what I THINK, this is what I looked up and found statistics on. The answer is Mexico. The reason is, it's the closest and people can travel across land from there to here. Since most people are poor or working class, it makes sense that most people would travel this way. People who immigrate legally across a longer distance tend to have more money, come by plane, etc. Click on this link and then click origin.

I know that 54% come from Mexico, and that 40% of illegal immigrants are in California.
