Ok this is what she does:
pretends she's sick nearly every day so people feel sorry for her but it's actually annoying people now cause they know she's lying.
copies lots of things off me and my friends.(ie the way we walk certain words we use the way we act)
Seems very insecure
Shouts swear words a lot at people for very small reasons

The thing is she's a very onely girl. I feel duty bound like i HAVE to talk to her. It sometimes gets a bit much when she copies me and follows me about but it makes me feel like a cow if I think these things

She could have a personality disorder. I don't have a DSM-IV close by, so I couldn't give any possible diagnosis (not that I'm qualified to anyway).
She sounds a lot like one of my friends. My suggestion for you is to allow her to make her own mistakes and deal with the consequences. Set some boundries and stick with them. I don't know what your religious preference is, but the book, Boundries by Cloud and Townsend is very good. It is written from a Christian perspective, and contains universal truths.

Low self esteem often makes people act like this. Dont let her depend on you to make you feel better because it will just end in tears i.e. her getting off with your boyfriend or just saying that she has.
Talk to her but encourage her to raise her own self esteem by doing something for herself because she obviously doesnt even know what her likes and dislikes are if she mimics everyone else.

Sounds like shes in for attention, mabe her parents arnt giving her enough.
WHy dont you try talking to her and seeing whats wrong with her.
She may just want a friend or someone she can talk to and she dont know how to.
Many people are like this, i know i seen people like this.
THey do stupid things just so they can get attention.
Try talking to her, i know what shes doing aint right, she may end up some ware and i know where she may head is not a good place.
So try talking to her and see what happins. If it works then good if not then you tried right
Good luck

Funny, I work with a lady like that...maybe we work in the same place??? No seriously, I have known lots of people like that-they always seem to need attention for some reason, and what do you do?? You don't want to be rude, but it's annoying. I just try to stay as far away as possible.

Yes, she is most likely very insecure and lonely. Be a friend and try talking to her. If she gets hostel with you say have a good day and move along. Just kill her with Kindness.
Best of luck to you.

You said it, she feels insecure and deprived of attention. It may very well be linked to family problems. Certainly, if she keeps on, she will lose what friends she has. Perhaps if someone points this out to her tactfully and asks her why she does it?

She sounds like a sad case. Maybe you should try being sympathetic and see if you can get her out of this. She needs to grow up a bit.

Sooner or later she will grow out of it. In the meantime do your best to tune her out. Some people need more attention then others. How is that girl's family life? Is her father still around?
