How much do you give to charity each week?

I give 5% a week

we do not have charity in the jewish faith, we have tzedakah (righteous giving) aproximately one tenth of our income is taken out of my husband's check for this. we do more when we can, but that is all that we do on a weekly basis.

edit: we have it taken out automatically through something like direct deposit so we can't "cheat".

You dont have to give anything to Charity. Instead don't shop at Wal-mart. Try and buy American made products and create jobs here.

If you are talking about helping charities which help people all over the world then you have to know that they have been promised bilions of dollars in money and they have problems operating. So if you want to help then we need to work hard pay our taxes so that jobs can be created its the only way to truely eliminate poverty.

You should give as much as you believe the jobless and homeless people deserve. Thay already have the government handing them checks so they should be able to start thier lives up again.

That's a very personal question.
If you are looking for a guideline, I'd advise to not judge yourself by what others give, because your circumstances may not be the same as theirs.
Give what you can afford to...of your time and money.
