I have noticed that I am not very productive at work after lunch. I tend to get drowsy. is there anything I can do abt this? i tried taking a 5 min walk. It didn't help

I'm the same way! I don't know what to do to avoid this.. I exercise every day, but I still get tired.. maybe some Ginsing or Green Tea or something would help..

This is related to age, I think. After a meal, the blood in the body is utilized to carry the nutrients from the stomach and intestines to the rest of the body.
Drowsiness after eating also increases as we age.

Change the type of food you eat for lunch, eat lighter, say a chef salad, as opposed to double cheeseburger and fries. Some cool ice tea and you should be covered until dinner. If you need a late afternoon punch, eat a granola bar, they make some with chocolate also.

The question is what are you eating that is making you tired? You can try eating a healthier foods, to give you more energy and stamina, you can try making sure you are sleeping enough. What is your usual lunch ? Let me know and i can offer suggestions on how to help you.

I was exactly like this when I was eating fast food sandwiches and carbs. I started bringing my lunch and having more vegetables and protein, like today I had a can of tuna and a can of green beans. It really was good and I feel good now! Try something like that!

You're expierencing whats known as a LUNCH PERIOD the walking is your best bet a little more than 5 minutes should do the trick.

Cut back on your carbs at lunch and eat a high protein lunch to keep your energy levels stable.

I'm ready 2 go 2 sleep every day after I eat.Try eating better food.That don't have all the starches that make u tired!*

Drink some energy drinks, that will keep u awake. Or just drink some caffeine like a coke or coffee. Hope this helps ♥ Gigi :-)
