No, but there would be more choices but then again there would be drama because there are cults that are considered religious although Christians would disagree and call them cults because they don't like anything synister call religious and there would more confussion about who is right and who is wrong and stuff!!!
I think the best thing is to leave religion out of school and focus in the most important stuff like learning things you will need to survive in this world!! If you like religion go to all the churches or temples or what ever you call it and learn all you want, ON YOUR OWN!!!
It is bad enough people are having trouble competting against 5th graders for you to worry about who believes in God and who doesn't!!

There would be more!! Indoctrination of ideas at a young age can shape the way that person thinks for life. It is what the fundamentalists want because that would bring more believers into the fold. The danger is that things like creationism will be taught instead of real science. This is a way to bring us back into the Dark Ages when life was ruled by religion. That is why our founding fathers wanted a separation of church and state.

Yes! Christianianity started out nice enough, but a coupla thousand years of different folks' takes & spins on it have made it less than a desireable choice. I was raised a Catholic Christian & don't believe anything I was taught. I'd never choose it as a religion -- if I actually had to choose one again. Besides that, the indoctrination of Catholic schools is outrageous! It's like "be this way" or ROT IN HELL. No thanks, I say, I'll pass.

I have a friend whose boys went to Catholic High school. In that high school they were taught about all religions. Neither one of them is Catholic now.
I think it's pitiful that kids just take on the religion of their parents (and are very often expected to do so!)
Education would certainly open their eyes!! So yes - there would be fewer Christians.

In order for that to happen , parents would have to let their children choose for themselves.
Their are Buddhists that won't let children associate with non buddhists. ( not most of them but there are a few)
There are fanatics in every religion.
It's just because parents raise kids to mimic their beliefs and morals, but religion is personable, so the person should be able to choose religions.
I'm guessing the christians is WHY religion isn't taught, because then their kids will learn about OTHER people and start questioning what mommy and daddy told them to believe.
So in all aspect, yeah I think there would be less christians if religion was taugh in school
Just lookat the thumbs down I'm getting. People don't like their beliefs challenged, so of course parents wouldn't want teachers teaching children to challenge the adult beliefs system

Yes, if the histories of said religions were given unwhite-washed with all atrocities listed! Of course, there'd be a lot less monotheists, period! Chirstians may want Christianity taught in school, but they definitely don't want it taught ABOUT!!!

Not if for once they would teach the truth instead of some crap like Eve eating an apple.
Do you know how many people actually believe that God was angry because of a piece of fruit?
If the truth was taught, they would be upright in their seats at attention and wouldn't want to miss one part of it.

As many Christians are educated (in school) as non-Christians. Are you trying to make another vapid point that Christians are uneducated? I'm educated, have two degrees from Universities with no Chrisitan affiliation... so what's your point?

i think there would be more people homeschooled. it is mostly the parents choice what religion their children will adopt. personally i would not want my children learning religion when there are much more pressing things they need to be learning.

Yes because people would be killing each other left and right. We wouldn't have schools. We'd just have war zones.
