my hubby does this and it seems so funny to me - especially since we are jewish now and have been for years. just wondering if anyone else does this.

It is a habit. I heard it a lot and I use it. I normally add in a few extra flavor words too.

Never did say that it always disgusted me! i have not had any problems with changing my speech. once i knew the truth!

In my prayer before i found out the true name of the Jewish Messiah. I ask my Father in heaven why did people use his sons name is such a way. And now i know why. Nope i have no desire to envoke the name of the imposter!!
for cursing or for blessing!

It's long since become a non-religious oath. All my Jewish frat brothers used it that way same as the Christians. It's part of our culture.

It is just a habit. I still say only the lord knows. It is hard to change your speech patterns

Yeah, sometimes, like when I burn myself on the stove by accident or drop something on my foot. I never used to cuss when I was a Christian. I apparently really offend people in my family by saying it.

I use it in several variations combined with other expletives. It's a habit I do automatically.

I still use "Jesus" as an expression, but it is a habit and means no more than "gadzooks" might...

My husband says that for someone who does not believe in god I sure do say in a lot during sex.
