Each has their own merits depending on what you want to get out of them. The Navy and Air Force have excellent electronics training and the Navy is the only place in the world you can get trained as a nuclear technician while working. If you think you would like to operate heavy ships then the Coast Guard is a great option as they can train you seamanship from the basic Zodiac boats all the way up to many ton cutters.
There is excellent training in each branch that will give you the skills for good paying career oriented jobs when you get out.

I would say why join either. The marines if anything. Then second the army. The air force and navy don't really have much going for them. Most people I know that have joined the arm forces have either joined the marines or army. The marines standards have not change. If you make it in the marines past boot camp that would be very good. The army I was told have lowered their standards. That is just my opinion. However, I commend you if you really are considering joining at this time. Especially with al that is going on in the world. Good luck in what ever it is you decide and be safe.

Some people get sea sick or the don't qualify for sub duty (maximum height requirements) and there are a whole lot of other reasons. Maybe the Navy offers a better incentive for re-upping after 4 years. The Ari Force isn't everything but it's a lot.

I don't know why you would join either. The recruitment need is for the army and marines.
