on sunday i gad what i thought was the beginning of a coldsore. red lumpish and tingley. but after a few hours it went away. now its back. what are the chances i'll get a coldsore this time around? thanks xxx

Pretty good chance. Abreva is very effective for fever blisters. Get it from your pharmacy- it's expensive ($15-$17) but worth every penny! Makes it go away days earlier.

cold sores are caused by herpes simplex I virus. if you truly have it you can't get rid of it forever just take medications to suprress outbreaks like valcyclovir (valtrex) though usually people with genital herpes (herpes simplex II) take that medication. technically it should work for both types
