"Te voy a matar si no me contestas"
and it translates as:
Im going to kill you if you dont answer me

Should be
te voy a matar si no me contestas
meaning;
I will kill you if you don't answer me

The translation they gave is correct, threathing to kill if you don't answer.

The person probably doesn't mean it seriously. Maybe they said this because they really wanted to talk to you and you didn't answer so they were sad.
