They are very fast paced, tedious, dirty, and you also must know how to take criticism, because no matter what, you will not be able to please each and every diner. You must always look over your help, and prep cooks to make sure that they are doing everything the right way, and make sure all your equipment is well maintained. Expext to work very long, and thankless hours.

Good luck.

yeah, extremely tiring, long hours, lots of bullshit, having to put up with those goddamn vegetarians, hot and sweaty (not in a good way), kitchens are usually filled with drunks and junkies, but overall, wouldn't give it up. now, if you're a cook, be prepared to be screamed at on a daily basis, called stupid and worthless, berated in front of fellow employees. but, that's all a part of paying your dues. It's fun. go for it

Hot. Busy, stressful, sweaty, angering when people don't cooperate or are slow, dirty, tiring. But if you love what you do, it's great.
