You could try but I believe it'll come out tough and chewy. This is because braising steak is cut from the shoulder which has more muscle and connective tissue, whereas sirloin annd rump are cut from the back of the animal. Braising steak is best cooked long and slowly over a low heat or in a low oven like a stew or casserole.

I love my steaks medium rare.
