I really wish the words "tramp stamp" had never been associated with lower back tattoos. There is nothing wrong with them. Any tattoo you choose to put on your body expresses who you are as a person and shouldn't be degraded that way. You put anything you'd like on your lower back, it will be beautiful either way.

sorry this may not really help but i think its both depending on what it is... i like to be original and so my boyfriends cousin designed a tribal star for me to go on my lower back, because i searched everywhere to see just examples to get an idea of what i want. But i found absolutely nothing which made me want it even more knowing that i couldn't find a single tribal star on the internet. however i feel that if u just pick something out of a book at the tattoo place with a typical heart or butterfly with tribal coming out its just too.... trendy and typical i guess i hate seeing people walking around with the same tattoo. You're suppose to have it on your body for the rest of your life and have it mean something to you, i think that's its really sexy if someone has their child write their name or i love you and have that tattooed on you or a paw print of your animal... something meaningful and unique.. that's all be creative

I think it depends on more on the girl and the presentation. However, this placement of a tattoo is SO OVERDONE! Save yourself the embarrassment of having this tattoo 20 years down the road and just don't do it. I got a tattoo when I was 18 and regret having done it. However, at least my tattoo wasn't the product of some fad/trend.
Getting a tattoo on your lower back now is tantamount to a guy getting a tribal band around his arm...sure, it was cool for a year or two, but now look at how many people we have to see running around claiming to be "unique." Save us all and either don't get a tattoo, or pick a different placement.

Like anything, I think it depends on who is looking at it.
I think that a lot of men who think it's sexy would also tell you it's sexy in a trashy sort of way.
For example, if you compare someone like Penelope Cruz to Pamela Anderson, I think most men would agree that both are sexy, but most would also agree that Pamela Anderson is trashy.
It all depends on what you're going for, but I'd think the decision to permanently mark your body should have more to do with how the tattoo will make YOU feel, rather than how it will make some jerk feel when he's looking at your backside.
And I don't think that the content of the tattoo is really a factor.

I have a tattoo on my lower back and everyone that has seen it thinks it looks nice not trashy. Its a heart with a tribal. What I think looks trashy is a huge tattoo and wearing clothes that show your butt-crack to show the tattoo. One thing I will tell you is be prepared for the pain it hurts like hell on the spine. Good luck.

Before you even get a tattoo, look at ones that are over 15 years in age. The ink bleeds, colors fade out, and then you'd always have the cost for the upkeep.
So would it be worth it?
I've had a tattoo for over 20 years and now the thing looks like an inkblot. Wished I never got it.

This is an interesting question. Most GUYS I know say it signals that the woman has been around the block and back (AKA TRASHSTAMP). Most WOMEN I know say it's sexy.
I personally feel it's trashy. Especially if it's something from popular culture, insects, tribal, etc.To me a tatoo should symbolize something dear to you, it's an intimate thing to share it. Otherwise you will just be 1 of the 1,000,000 women with the same fairy or tribal tattoo on their back.

Ok...First of all a tattoo isn't going to make you trashy! A skirt that doesn't cover your @$$ and some hooker boots can do that on their own! It's all about presentation. I happen to think they're hot(I have one), but all depends on you.
If it's what you want, then why worry what a bunch of strangers on Yahoo answers think? We're nothing to you. Names on a screen. You have to decide for yourself if you like it. After that; Everyone else be d@mned.
