Eating a balanced, healthy diet is going to make you feel more positive, energetic and less tired. Try to eat protein with each meal, complex carbs, and if you can, get 30 minutes of moderate exercise. Cutting sugars and simple carbs will make you feel better.

Think about what you want your life to be like when you lose the weight. Keep that image in mind. Post photos that remind you of your goal on the fridge.

You don't have to constantly watch what you eat. Do it once a week when you plan out a week's menu. Only buy the items on your list. That really helps, because if you are tired of watching what you eat, you are probably too tired to run to the store for junk food too.

Good luck - losing weight is an emotional journey, and it's not always easy.

You probably are dealing with more stress with the kid, so find some stress-relief activities. You can't make yourself feel more motivated, but you can change your routine to avoid situation that trigger snacking or binging. Cycling works for me. Any fun athletic activity is great. Don't pick a boring workout. Go to a dance class or something like that. Know the things that make you crave food: stress and boredom are the most likely culprits.

I have read that one reason people don't stick to a diet is because it is to hard. If you want to succeed, try switching your diet from say low carb to low fat. Mix them up.

Exercise, has to be a good routine. Find one that you enjoy and then add to it.
