Satellite TV Companies got tired of battling local and state regulations. They went to Congress in 1996 to get the “Over-the-Air Reception Devices Rule.” The law has been amended several times – it prevents interfering with the installation of a satellite dish for DirecTV or Dish Network – including renters.

The dish you’re describing sounds to big for Satellite TV unless you live in Alaska. The law allows the dishes to be any size in Alaska (they’ve thought of everything).

If the dish is not for Satellite TV you should be able to get it removed. If it is for Satellite TV - you will probably find yourself battling with a Satellite company in addition to your neighbor.

Good Luck!

Varies by county and state. If there is an owners association for a subdivision that will make a difference as well; if so, contact them about the rules for dishes.

If not call the local Zoning comission if there is one; otherwise, not a thing to be done I'm afraid
