I know about submissive peeing and excited peeing, but I don't think that is the case with my 7 month old puppy. When I come home, he is excited but never pees. But today, we were playing a game with the kitten and the puppy where they chase this little red bird thing. The puppy jumped up on the couch and just sat there. A few minutes later, I noticed he peed. He's never done that before. Then I saw a trail of pee by the back door. It looked like he was walking and peeing, and couldn't control it. It was in a long line.

Urinary tract infection. The vet will need to see your dog for proper diagnosis and meds. If you wait too long for the vet visit,it can get very painful for the dog. UTIs never go away on their own.

He may be doing it because he has a medical problem. I have a dog that developed a kidney infection and he would do that. The puppy also may have developed a problem in his urethra.
