1999 expedition, load level air compressor is loud, you can feel lots of vibration when it comes on, do i need to change a mount or do i have to replace the whole compressor, and if i do replace the pump is there any tricks to the trade or stumbling points or is it a one for one exchange, i know i should replace the dryer also, thanks Tony

Ford has a TSB out that involves removing the air spring air compressor and changing it's mount ... ... But it's a revised compressor mount and I've changed a few and has made worlds of difference..like new

Part number is 4L1Z-5Z205-AA

If you change compressor, Ford supplies new dryer and all

If you're thinking of replacing the dryer then you're talking about the a/c compressor, right?

In this case you might first want to make sure there's enough oil in the system (but make sure to find out first whether it's PAG or Esther oil, the two can not be mixed). And could try replacing the compressor's clutch.

Because the only load level air compressor I've ever heard of has to do with your shocks, I don't think these have driers, but if they do, that might be the problem, it could also be that it needs hydraulic fluid?
