I've used similar slings for all three of my kids, only I have the one that carries them in the front rather than side.

Only problem? Quickly getting the baby in and out of it, and sometimes an aching back.

I have a hip hammock. We only used it a little with our first child, but I'm using it more with my second who doesn't like the front carrier. He doesn't really hang on, so this is easier than trying to hold him, which takes both hands.

I have nannied infants for years, and raised my brothers, and now i have a taco of my own. I can promise you that anything with clips and straps is a MAJOR pain in the butt. Ive tried all manner of carriers. They all have their place, but for general every day use just buy a simple pouch sling from someone on Ebay, theyre SO much easier, they fold and fit in your pocket, and babies like them much better. You can wear the baby in front, on your side, and on your back. The baby can face in, out, and curled up.

Theres really no way of convincing you. But for 10-40 bucks you can try it yourself. Theyre the best. Or you could just make one, it takes about 2 yards of cotton fabric.

The fabric evenly displaces the weight of the baby across your whole body, and you can go much longer without having any neck or back pain. Thats a MAJOR plus. All the regular strappy carriers will hurt you shoulders and neck.

I perferr the front carrier, I used the hip carrier with my first child ( I actually got it in Japan before they were avalible in the US) but I had alot of backahces from it because it kind of throuws you off since more weight is on one side of you.
