I read somewhere in a magazine that you can camp on top of a redwood tree in some campground in the northern california coast, does anyone know anything about this?

I live in the middle of the redwood forests (Humboldt County, CA) and I've never heard that. There are hippies around here who will actually build platforms in the trees and camp there for a while in order to stop the harvesting of that tree by the lumber mills, but of course that is trespassing. Other then that, perhaps you can camp on a fallen redwood tree (some are easily wide enough), but I have never heard anything along those lines, and I camp a lot around here.

False and illegal. Do you realize how tall a Redwood tree is? Somehow I doubt it. The high winds would blow you off like a leaf.
