Take B vitamins (this helps with stress).
Take a hot bath with relaxing lavender salts or oil (also helps to relax you)
Enjoy some chamomile tea before bedtime... (also helps to relax you and destress)
Create a regular routine. Journal your feelings/thoughts -helps to empty your mind before you go to bed so that you are not obsessing with whatever is stressing you out.
Exercise daily... this relieves stress.
Take a moment for yourself everyday to just meditate, breathe, and SLOW DOWN......
If you practice all the above and develop somethings that help you release your stress, you'll sleep much better.

Exercise, not eating within 4 hours of sleep, also no smoking or caffinated drinks before bed. Chamomille tea can help, as will taking a relaxing bath or shower. Hope your insomnia gets better.

No quick cures but this is what I have found to help:
Warm bath before bed
Chamomile tea
Valerian Root
Meditation
Exercise (like walking, aerobics, dance)
Head Massage (calming)
Soft Music (only one or two hours before bedtime)
No Television in bedroom (high electric source disturbs natural
rythym to sleep)
Dark Room (dark paint, black-out blinds) to light sources like
clocks, night lights)
Waterfalls do help (in room away from bed)
Reading before you sleep
Do not use your computer within I hour of bedtime (it changes the
brain waves and excites the mind)
Milk (warm) right before bed
No caffeine of any kind within 5 hours of bedtime (coffee, tea or chocolate)
Yoga or pilates help reduce stress
You need to jump on this problem right away as it can grow and cause all kinds of health problems. Stress affects your hormones which in turn affects your sleep. I have had the same problem and could not sleep good for months. It caused my hair to fall out and weakness and dizzy spells. Your body needs good quality sleep. I did my research and found many items to help relax your body and produce sleep. Try them they work.

Have a glass of red wine before you go to bed. It will help you relax and sleep well. That helps me. If your problem persists you may want to call your doctor to prescribe you some no addicting sleep medicine. You really don't need to lose to much sleep, that can more unhealthy than you realize. Sweet dreams!
