Christ physically rose. The Bible states that the tomb was empty. When Christ appeared before Thomas He said to him go ahead and put your finger in the holes and your hand in my side, this couldn't of been done if He was in spirit form. So anyone believing the Bible must accept a physical resurrection. The ascension was also physical or like you stated He would of left His shell behind. Christ is still in a physical form for when he returns all eyes shall see Him. His death, burial, and resurrection are also a sign of how things will work for us and everyone believes we will be physically resurrected so Christ must of been also.

I don't know how Jesus arose with His body, but He did. The Bible says we who are alive and remain will be changed in a twinkling of an eye. So it doesn't take much to make this corruptible body incorrupt. When the graves are opened those bodies will be united with the spirits coming back. The Holy Spirit tries daily to get me more like Jesus and when the time comes I will be changed to be just like Jesus. So Jesus has a very unique body - it can look flesh and blood and it can illuminate with light and it can go through matter as if it were not even there. I've read the Bible all my life and I don't think it ever answers your question.

I'm not sure if this is what you're getting at, but maybe it'll be useful: (based on Catholic theology, for what it's worth)
Jesus is the only "both/and" - he is both human and divine, both categorical (stuck in 3 dimensional space and time) and transcendent (beyond the categorical). It is illogical how this "both/and" could work, but that's why we call it a mystery and why we believe that Jesus is God.
So, Jesus was born a human man. He was still God, but God incarnate. He lived, ate, spit, pissed, and died. The resurrection is the fulfillment of what Jesus is - he experienced a physical resurrection (not resusitation, there is a difference) and was at that same time gloried and given access to the transcendent. So when Jesus appeared before his friends and followers, it was is physical body that appeared. But now, since he is not bound by those limitations, he seemed to "disappear" or appear to be merely a spirit.
What we look forward to is our own resurrection, our own complete fulfillment, body and spirit.

The bible account gives the answer about Jesus' body and ressurection. Early that Sunday morning after Jesus' death, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, along with Salome, Joanna, and other women, brought spices to the tomb to treat Jesus’ body. En route they said to one another: “Who will roll the stone away from the door of the memorial tomb for us?” But on arriving, they find that an earthquake had occurred and God's angel has rolled the stone away. The guards are gone, and the tomb is empty!
Jesus was resurrected and after materializing on several ocassions, he eventually was raised to heaven and presented to his heavenly father and angelic hosts.

These sorts of questions, along the lines of the historical "how many angels can dance on the head of a pin?" are much easier to answer when you realize that bible-god is a fiction, and most likely Jesus didn't actually exist as a historical person. If Jesus did actually exist, his body went through the same changes as all ex-life and decomposed back to its constituent parts. The soul is another bit of religious fiction.
You're welcome

Jesus rose with a glorified body and ascended into heaven with that glorified body. He still has that glorified body and will keep it for all eternity. Those of us who will be raised in his glory shall have a body like his.

Why became into Jesus called the Son of guy and what does it advise? God confirmed to Daniel a inventive and prescient sooner or later while Jesus entered the heavens after the crucifiction and resurrection. Daniel defined Him in Daniel 7:13-14 as "One like the Son of guy", and defined the daddy as "historical of Days". the define of the kindom this Son of guy is barely met by utilising the dominion of Jesus King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Why did Jesus use this identify yet no longer "the Christ"? utilising the extra direct identify "Christ" could instant the pharisees to seek for/attempt to kill Him till now time. The disciples mandatory time to examine what Jesus taught them in the time of His ministry. Jesus' plan became into to : * carry forth the gospel / prepare the apostles for 3 years, * then to pass to Jerusalem to be sacrificed. It became into no longer area of the plan to be killed in the time of the 1st 3 to 6 months. by utilising the time of the activities of Mark 8:27-38, Jesus had no longer yet finished His objectives of His ministry, it became into no longer time to die yet.

The whole thing is a hoax. Read the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), starting with Jesus' supposed resurrection and reappearance to his followers.
See what suspicious details you notice.
