By stepping up to heavyweight and winning a version of the world title. Admmitedly Jones was an exceptional fighter but as the current heavyweight division isent exactly red hot, what are the chances of fighters like Jermain Taylor, Joe Calzaghe, Bernard Hopkins or any others arouned that weight division, of winning a version of the world heavyweight title if they really wanted to?

There is this guy that is a possible future heavyweight champ. Jonathan Banks. Trained under Emanuel Steward, which means Banks spars with the Klitschko's. He is currently a cruiserweight. He beat Castillo who fought some heavyweights (wlad klitschko)http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?...
If anyone can, i guess it would be the current Cruiserweight champ, o'neil Bell

but he has never fought at heavyweight.
I think it is getting harder to move up. Think Vassiliy Jirov and James Toney

Also, Juan Carlos Gomez has been unsuccessful moving up, but his boxing talent gives him a chance.

I cant see anybody else moving up, especially from a division lower than cruiser, but then again, I would have never imagined Roy Jones Jr as a middleweight in the 90's becoming the heavyweight champ

Supposedly before, Jeff Lacy was favored to join elite company when he was envisioned to take out super middleweight, dominate light heavyweight, and then step up to heavyweight. This was all before his loss to Joe Calzaghe, though. The only man capable now of joining Michael Spinks and Roy Jones,Jr., is Bernard Hopkins. The problem is that Hopkins is not getting any younger.
If Hopkins will attempt to do so, I think he should wait for a heavyweight champion that will not have too much size advantage. Nevertheless, I think it's possible.

Oh my! this would be a combat that Jones want. Mayweather isn't possible taker and in all possibility would not carry out too nicely at middleweight, which could be suited for Jones. it would be very complicated for Mayweather to counter somebody with hand speed like Jones. And as Jon stated, Mayweather did no longer look too warm coming in at a hundred and fifty kilos, so i will basically photograph how he would be struggling with at a hundred and fifty five or above. I %. Jones via very late stoppage. Jones would land some blows that Mayweather heavily isn't smirking at.
